500 yen lunch

Menu:
Corn & broccoli pasta with cream sauce,

cabbage & seaweed salad,


tuna macaroni,


yellow rice,


bread,


drinks.

Location:
"Genova" downtown Fujieda, behind the department store Apita, in front of the hair dresser's.

Cost:
500 yen/ person (at today's exchange rate that equals $4.68).

Who:
2 English teachers from my school.

Conversation topics:
Senior students taking national university test this weekend,
my decision to stay or go,
possibility of snow tonight,
US politics.


Next:
"Betsu bara" party
Immediately following lunch at one of the teacher's homes,
with her 6 year-old black lab "Nanachan,"
coffee and Japanese sweets.
