While waiting for a pause in the rain so I can go for a quick jog (gotta train for Mt Fuji!) I'm cleaning & organizing stuff for when I leave Japan (sniff sniff).
I came across a letter dated October 2006 from my aunt who at that time was leaving Minnesota for warmer weather out west. Our extended family had all gotten together that day so there were many good-byes and "See you in the Spring." Aunt M wrote, "...am exhausted...but I guess if we didn't ever say good-bye we wouldn't be going any place ~ and that sounds rather dull, doesn't it?"
I agree that adventure, travel, and change keep life exciting!
Good-byes definitely hurt, but I'm determined they are worth it ~ both for what's behind us, and for what lies ahead.
